Lately

‘Lately’ is my favorite post of the week! I love sharing with you all the things that have been going on ‘lately’ and keeping it light and fun. It also has encouraged me to stay busy throughout the week so I can share new things with you and not just fall victim to a routine, especially right now!

I’m really happy because last Friday we finally got to spend some time with my parents, sister, bro-in-law and most importantly, our (okay, my parents) dog Chester in person for the first time in almost 2-months. The weather was so nice here in Ohio that we socially distanced on my parents porch and finally got to see everyone face to face. It was so nice to see everyone, catch-up and do something relatively normal-ish. It was such a mood booster and we are all still just as healthy.

Here are a few more things that have been going on lately:

Home Projects: I finally picked two home project to do while we are at-home. At first, I was not at all inspired to do anything but then decided we should try. Our first project is redoing our three seasons porch. We have cleared out the old lighting, carpet and hooks. We have filled all the holes and are in the process of sanding the old paint off. I shared out porch inspiration in this post, and cannot wait till this is a cozy spot to spend warm summer nights. Our second project is to paint the front door red. More to come on that later!

Recipes for Relief: I am starting to get the urge to step out of my food routine and try a few new recipes. I shared a few recipes here we are going to try in the coming days, but I also donated to Recipes for Relief to download all my cousins recipes. For those that don’t know, my cousin TJ is a fabulous chef and has been a chef at some amazing throughout his career. He is one of the featured chefs for Recipes for Relief and every donation you make to one of the features chefs goes to support their restaurant and staff. In my opinion it’s a win win, you get to support amazing chef, staff and restaurants while also getting access to some pretty delicious recipes. My other cousin, Todd, made TJ’s DIll Pickle Fried Chicken and said it was the best thing he’s ever made. I say, a must try!

Reading: Untamed by Glennon Doyle finally arrived on my door step this week after I ordered it a month ago. I thought Amazon was supposed to speedy? Guess not. Anyways, I started it the other night and I’m already almost done. All I can say is this book spoke to me! A true must read and so relatable, I felt myself reflecting back on the pages. It also sparked something in me I haven’t felt in a long time and I love it when a book does that. Such a great book and messages that will be hanging out in my head for awhile. Do yourself a favor and read it!

Shopping: I shared a few of my other recent Amazon purchases here that have made staying at home a little better. I also purchased this rug this week for the porch which I’m super excited about. It makes all the sanding and cleaning more bearable. I also snagged a few clean beauty skincare products from Sephora which I am excited to try. Will share those items in a separate post once I have a chance to try, but a few clean beauty skincare products things I always have on hand are this vitamin C & rose oil which I love and keeps my skin super hydrated and this moisturizer + SPF that leaves my skin with a dewy look. I have No 2. I also love Primally Pure and just ordered a few organic and clean spray hand sanitizers if you are in need of some!
