Lately!
Hello friends!
Just sat down and excited to catch up with you on all things happening in life lately. Even though Ben and I have been ‘safe’ at home (always working on that mindset!) we have been keeping busy. Lots of walks, happy hours on the patio, trying to recipes and yard projects.
Recently, it has been extra warm and sunny so I’m soaking it all in while I can. We moved my desk into our living room which is exciting and I have been able to keep our french doors which open to the porch open and have all the fresh air breeze into the house. It’s awesome and such a mood booster!
So here is what has been going on lately:
Wearing: I just received this sweatshirt from the Gap and I am in love! The blue color is a beautiful french blue and the sweatshirt is super soft. The fit is a more modern fit, cropped with a funnel neck but it looks amazing on. I snagged it on sale but it is TTS. I have been busy organizing my closet and getting rid of old ratty t-shirts and workout gear, so new loungewear pieces are a must right now. Plus there are so many options right now its crazy!
Recipes: I have been on a baking kick lately and been earmarking new recipes for Ben and I to try. I just rediscovered Pinterest (yes, rediscovered) and have found some great healthy recipes to try. We made these Pumpkin Meatballs the other night along with a side of veggies and we both really enjoyed it. It was super easy and took about 30 minutes to make. We didn’t have some of the ingredients and spices so I made it up as I went and it was still delicious.
Watching: We caved and signed-up for Disney+. I really wanted to watch the Meghan Markle Elephants documentary. I got about 5 minutes into and found myself watching the Disney Channel Original Movies like Zenon Girl of the 21st Century. Talk about waves of memories and taking me back to middle school. Woah. I did watch the movie Noelle (it’s Christmas anytime for me) and it was super cute. Anna Kendrick did a great job!
Fitness: I know I talked about the Peloton App in this Lately Post but it seriously has been a game changer for me. My goal is to move my body at least 30 minutes a day. I mix it up between cycling, yoga, bodyweight strength training and running, but I love all the different trainers, music options and other filters so you can have the perfect workout. I few of my friends have it and we have scheduled out 3 days a week to virtually workout together. It is a huge motivator to workout but also push myself harder cause I am tired of being dead last :). Like I said, my goal is 30-minutes a day to ensure I am getting my blood pumping and recirculating, keeping my body moving and functioning right and to keep those positive endorphins going.
Yard Work: We bought mulch, weed killer, new work gloves, and many other things I have no clue how to use so we could get our yard all cleaned up. Honestly, I hate yard work. It immediately makes me want to sell our house and live downtown again, but I suited up and we got the whole front cleaned up. Plus my dad was kind enough to saw some dead trees down for us. Don’t worry we kept our 6 feet of distance but it was nice to see him in-person again. We are tackling the back yard this weekend. Wish us luck!
Drinking: My spicy lime margarita has been on rotation all week long. It seriously is my favorite thing in life right now. I make a batch to take on our evening walks or if we are enjoying happy hour on the patio. It’s so refreshing I can’t help it.
Pinterest: Like I said, I have re-discovered Pinterest. I have been pinning so many new healthy recipes I want to try, house inspiration (interior and exterior), style inspiration and more. Make sure to follow me to see what’s inspiring me to help inspire you!
