Lately + Memorial Day Weekend Sales

Happy Memorial Day weekend! This weekend is my official kick-off to summer and I could not be more excited. I’m so ready for backyard hang out around the fire pit, patio happy hours, cookouts, days on the water and the ability to soak up as much Vitamin D as humanly possible.

I feel like our social calendar is busting at the seams for this weekend, which is super exciting. We plan to go to a baseball game, a family cookout, our local farmer’s market, and more. I love that everything we are doing is outside, because I don’t think my mental health can take being cooped up at home any longer! Spring, summer and fall are always a huge mental health booster for me and I’m even more happy that we actually get to enjoy all our favorite things about these seasons this year.

I know I am not alone when I say this, but holy wow, the past 15 months have been such mental and emotional roller coaster for me. I have done a lot of work to get back to feeling happy and seeing the joy in things, but it has been a journey in and of itself. I’ve put a lot of boundaries into place to protect my mental health (i.e. not as active on social) and to be more present in life (i.e. not as active on social). It’s been amazing so far and learning what makes the most sense for me each day.

So with that said, let’s get to it….here is what I have been up to lately.

Clean Beauty: I have been LOVING this face wash and moisturizer and so has my skin. These are both a more budget friendly clean beauty option. My face is looking so bright, even and youthful.

Reading: I ordered Body Talk by Katie Sturino and cannot wait to read it. I have to continue to work on my own personal body image beliefs everyday and I love how Katie Sturino approaches her own body image. I have been following her on IG for awhile, so excited to read her wise words and add this book to my shelf.

Eating: I’m in charge of bringing a side dish to our family cookout this weekend. I plan to bring this cucumber, tomato and avocado salad. It sounds delicious, refreshing and full of veggie goodness.

Drinking: This time of year I am super into margaritas. I plan on making this Spicy Strawberry Jalapeño margarita this weekend. I love a fun and refreshing cocktail during the summer months and with the added spice I’m sure this is going to be super delicious.

Watching: The 90’s are back in full force and I have been obsessed with Cruel Summer on Hulu. It’s a kidnapping mystery that set in the mid-90’s and I am hooked to know how the mystery is going to pan out. The nostalgia alone (clothing, songs, VHS tapes and slang) transports me back to my 8 year old self.

Loving: I am still going to my weekly cupping and acupuncture sessions and LOVE them. The end of last year and beginning of this year were really hard for me. I decided to step outside my box and give cupping and acupuncture a try and honestly, It has helped me in so many ways. I will do a bigger blog post on my overall experience, but this has become a huge staple in my overall wellness/self-care practices.

Wearing:THIS sweatshirt is so fun for summer and also SUPER comfortable. I have been living in it recently and will be going with me everywhere - boating, sitting by the fire, to throw on on a cool night….whatever the occasion, this will be my go to summer sweatshirt.

Wellness: I’ve been curating my perfect vitamin and supplements plan and I think I have found a mix that is working for me now. Another topic that deserves a bigger blog post, but two things I have been loving are these fiber pills and this collagen with vitamin C and hypersonic acid to help with joint support and hair/skin/nail health.

Lastly, here are the Memorial Day sales I think are worth mentioning. There are a LOT of sales happening this weekend but don’t feel the pressure to have to buy anything.
