Lately

Happy 4th of July weekend! All my festive red, white and blue is ready to go (check out some of my faves here and here) and I’m focused on checking even more things off my summer bucket list.

It’s the perfect summer weekendour friends kindly invited us to spend time on their boat, we will be watching all the fireworks, celebrating the 4th with a family seafood boil and so much more. It’s another busy summer weekend but I would not have it any other way (grateful!).

Last week Ben and I enjoyed the farmer’s market (love getting farm fresh eggs) and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Katalina’s on their patio before it got too hot (love the pumpkin pancake balls). We are really focused on exploring our neighborhood and soaking in all it has to offer from places to eat, to workout studios, to shopping. We can walk to a lot of the things from our house which keeps it easy and fun, but we felt the need to really enjoy it all more, so we are!

My potted herbs!

Lastly, I have been getting really into gardening and potting plants. I don’t have a natural green thumb at all but am slowly learning and teaching myself what to do - and asking LOTS of questions at the garden store. My goal is to clean up our backyard and create raised beds to grow vegetables and herbs, but I am currently practicing in pots right now before I take the leap to invest. I did buy this beginner’s guide to growing vegetables which has been super informative. It’s been a lot of fun and my new favorite hangout is the garden center (who am I?!). You can follow along on my gardening journey on Instagram. It’s been fun to share my experience with you all!

Want to see what else I’ve been up to lately, keep scrolling and find out!

Clean Beauty: I don’t wear a ton of makeup (here is my 5-minute face routine) and especially during the summer I try to keep it as natural as possible and really only wear sunscreen. I LOVE this sunscreen because it’s not greasy, it’s a higher SPF and also has color corrector in it for a little more coverage. I’m all about an ‘all-in-one’ product and this one is perfect for summer.

Reading: I started reading The Last Train to Key West and can’t put it down. It’s a fun, summer read and a page turner. I love anything by Chanel Cleeton and couldn’t recommend her books more!

Eating: I put myself in charge of bringing the dessert to our family seafood boil this weekend. I decided on peach cobbler and will be trying out this recipe. I also have these Melon Mozzarella Skewers on my ‘must make’ list as well!

Eating II: I made this delicious salad this week and it was on repeat. Super simple and filled with so much goodness - kale, chickpeas, radish, green onion, avocado, walnuts simple dressing of avocado oil, garlic, salt, dijon mustard and lemon.

Drinking: I have been all about the Aperol Spritz. I know this cocktail is some what polarizing, but this is my go to summer drink right now!

Watching: It’s Christmas in July on Hallmark. Do I need to say more?! I’m a sucker for an easy, breezy holiday romance and Hallmark always delivers. I’m also watching Wimbledon! I love tennis and I love the royals and well, Wimbledon supplies both. Love it!

Loving: I’ve been very consistent with my dry brushing routine and love it. It helps support lymphatic drainage, promotes circulation, detoxes the skin, removed dead skin and more. I use this budget friendly dry brush. The bristles are not too rough and you do get used to it. You can learn more here!

Wearing: Summer dresses are a staple in my closet, especially a white dress. I have my eye on this white dress, love this dress, and this dress.

Wellness: I’ve been super focused on joint health recently (hello age) and have been seeing all over Instagram how amazing this collagen is for joint health. I caved and finally bought it and started using it this week. I have no review on it yet, but it does taste good, and I’m excited to see the benefits!

Lastly, here are the 4th of July day sales I think are worth mentioning. There are a LOT of sales happening this weekend but don’t feel the pressure to have to buy anything if you don’t need too.
