Traditional Holiday Home Decor

The holidays are right around the corner and I’m so excited to explode festive cheer all over our house! My holiday decor style is pretty traditional - think festive, warmth and nostalgia. A lot of my decor has been passed down to me or gifted which I love because it fills the house with memories and thoughts of loved ones.

This is my favorite time of year to shop both in store and online and I most of the time I do need reel myself sometimes. My main focus is to buy quality and timeless decor so I can use it year after year and not spend a fortune. The two things I do buy every year are a quality Santa and a Christopher Radko ornament my husband and I pick out together.

So when it comes to holiday decor I love the following:

  • Tartan - ribbon, blankets, wrapping paper and even party dresses! I love tartan so much.

  • Trees- we bought this vintage tree for our bedroom, an artificial tree in our family room, a real tree in our living room and this tree is currently in my cart and thinking about putting it in our dining room. And these mini ornaments would be perfect.

  • Pajamas - It’s not decor, but I love to match the decor and the season! Love this candy stripe set.

  • Entertaining pieces - I love my Spode Christmas dinner plates. I think great entertaining pieces, festive glassware and holiday cocktail napkins can really add something special to a holiday party or if you’re hosting family and friends for the holidays.

  • Plush blankets to cozy up by the fire while sipping on a cup of boozy hot chocolate and quoting Home Alone to my husbands annoyance.

  • Candles - nothing is better than a holiday candle. I love this one and this one! Also shared more holiday candles in this blog post.
