Lately

Wow. I cannot believe we are approaching the end of August and September/fall is around the corner. I’m actually personally excited for fall to be here as September - December is my favorite time of year. There is just a magic in the air and all my favorite things are happening - holiday’s, my birthday, my anniversary - seriously, so much to celebrate and to be grateful this time of year. However, I am bummed about no fall college football. I had been handling all the curve balls from this year pretty well, but the cancellation of Big 10 football hurt.

But on a positive note, we still have a few weeks of summer left and I plan on enjoying every minute of it and getting a little more sun kissed before sweater weather is upon us. Plus I love all the fresh veggies and fruit that is in abundance this time of year, so will be soaking that in as much as possible. Who doesn’t love grilled veggies and fruit, fruit focused summer desserts and more!

Also, this week I had a photoshoot with The Scout Guide Columbus. I will be featured in the 2021 book sharing the amazing things I do as a Health and Lifestyle Coach. It was such a fun experience and the pictures looked amazing as we viewed back in real time. Ashley from Henry Photography was the photographer and she was great. She really wanted my feedback and to make sure I was comfortable and getting the shots I wanted. Really appreciated that about her!

So today I wanted to share a few things that I have been loving lately!

Wearing: I purchased a pair of these new Swan Birdies and cannot wait for them to arrive. I had a tough time deciding between black, gold and leopard, but decided on the gold so I can wear them during the holiday season. The padding on these looks simply divine and like little clouds for my feet. I love Birdies and wear these black Starling’s all the time. The shoes run TTS and I cannot recommend enough!

Wellness I: Make sure to check out my post about self-care and boundaries. I have done an conscious internal checkin and realized I needed to double down on my self-care and reset a few boundaries in my life. Sharing six things I am doing to help inspire you in your own self-care journey!

Wellness II: I have been on a roll lately making sure I fascial roll every single day. I have this roller from Primally Pure and love it! I chose the Yellow Nephrite roller because it does all the things (reduce inflammation, puffiness, redness, etc.) but it helps promote positive feelings to reduce stress and supports a health gut. The gut is our second brain, so anything to promote gut health I’ll do it! I put my toner and serums on after I wash my face and the quick roll up my neck and then my face to stimulate collagen, lymphatic flow and circulation. You can put this in the fridge/freezer too to chill the puff, but I use this inexpensive ice roller while I wait for my coffee to brew! Don’t want my other one to get damaged while in the freezer.

Eating: I found my favorite pancake mix in a pumpkin spice version. Yes, I am one of those people who celebrates all things pumpkin spice. I made my first batch of pancakes the other night and they were so good! I like Birch Blenders pancake mix because their ingredients are simple and I can pronounce them, I do not buy based on ‘diet’. I usually buy the plant protein version because it tastes the best, but this paleo pumpkin spice version will be on rotation this fall for sure.

Reading: I just ordered two book Body Respect and Health at Every Size. Both these have been on my reading list for awhile now and I am looking forward to reading both of them. I haven’t really read any fiction lately, but the one I have up next is Such a Fun Age. Have you read anything recently that you would recommend? Let me know!

Quoting: “All that I am or hope to be, I owe myself.”
