Lately
This weekend marks the beginning of it “officially” being summer and I am here for it! So far we have had a blast this summer and I am looking forward to more fun, sunshine and Corona Seltzers.
Our best friends decided to buy a boat (woo hoo!) and they have kindly invited us to go out on the boat a few times already this summer. We have been lake hopping all around Ohio and it has been fun experiencing all the different lakes, lake houses and people. I will say, I have been surprised at how each lake is so different in terms of lake life, people and overall experience. Not saying with one we like best just yet, but I am sure a favorite will be found.
Wearing: I bought this sweatshirt to wear while we are on the boat. All I have wanted was to be all “American” like I was sailing in New England and this sweatshirt fits the bill. I bought the blue one and sized up!
Wearing II: A few things I have been admiring from J McLaughlin: This white linen dress. This linen dress in sand. These white eyelet shorts and these sunnies.
Drinking: Forget a White Claw summer, it’s the summer of Corona Seltzer. I honestly have really enjoyed the Corona Seltzers because they are more soda water like and less flavor vs White Claw. I do like the new Lemon White Claw flavor, but I am here for the Corona Seltzers!
Home-ing: We are finally almost done our three seasons room. Yay! This project took way longer than we expected but we are so close. Just a few finishing details and done. What we have completed is all the painting the walls and ceiling, installing new crown molding, bought a rug, bought furniture and installed a new fan. All we need now are new pillows, this tree, and a stocked bar cart (similar one here). I am loving this room and am now taking my coffee out here daily. A more detailed post will happen soon!
Reading: I have been FLYING through books recently. I just finished up re-reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and re-watched Eat Pray Love. Both are so good and hit differently this time around vs when I in my mid-twenties. I guess that is what you call perspective? I am now digging into Anti-Diet about reclaiming your life through Intuitive Eating. Chapter 1 was extremely eye opening especially with the conversations happening in our country right now. Looking forward to diving deep into this one!
Watching: I cannot get enough of The Dead Files! If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my story how I stayed up way too late watching the show on demand and scared myself so badly I couldn’t sleep that night. It’s about a medium and detective who both investigate the same paranormal activity and detective will substantiate the mediums findings. It’s wild and I love it!
Columbus-ing: I have been meeting up with a few girlfriends to do social distancing happy hours and we have done takeout, but we have not eaten out at a restaurant yet. Ben sent me a calendar invite for a date night on Friday at one of our favorite spots in town - Gallo’s Kitchen. It’s menu is Italian/cajun fusion and it seriously is so good. I love the neighborhood feel and you always see someone you know. Plus the wine options are fantastic.
Wellbeing: I have been making sure to take time for myself and do things that bring me joy and keep stepping me in a positive direction. A few things I have done for myself recently: took a bubble bath, got my nails done, made a charcuterie board for Ben and I to enjoy on our patio, bought my favorite wine and making sure to safe-guard my nightly routine. What can you do this week that bring you joy?
