How Your Style Can Spark Body and Self Confidence

The other day I went to Madewell to buy a new outfit for a meeting I have this week and I wanted to look and feel good in my outfit. I have been living in leggings and sweatshirts for almost a year now accept for an occasional outfit here and there that I almost forgot what wearing real pants felt like. And I will also honestly say, loungewear and athleisure wear is truly the only thing I have purchased throughout the year, maybe a pair of shoes here and there, but I REALLY needed a wardrobe refresh after ignoring my ‘work wear’ section for far too long.

So with my mask on I took the voyage to the mall and decided to play dress up in the dressing room and chose a few pieces for a wardrobe refresh. And let me tell you, it felt SO GOOD to put on new, nice and on trend clothes. I had so much fun being creative and pulling outfits together and getting my style spark back (if you read my 101 in 1001 days, then you might know I want better define my overall style). The mood and confidence boost alone was worth the trip, but also remembering how powerful looking good and feeling good in what you are wearing can be (and let me remind you, it truly is everything!).

I would like to note, I am not one who dresses to a certain size, but I truly dress to what fits me and looks good on my body. I have done a lot of work to accept my body as she is today and only purchase clothing that make me feel good and helps me exude confidence. I wore clothes to cover my body or make me invisible for far too long and always wanted to look stylish and pulled together. All I had to do was build some confidence in myself and know the only person I had to dress for was me (and my husband). I truly believe clothes are an extension of your mood, confidence and how you feel about yourself, so I say….FEEL DAMN GOOD in what you wear cause you’re WORTH IT.
